There are many soldiers that go to training just on the weekends for they can be home if there kids and family. Basic Pay is your base salary as a Soldier on active duty and it counts only as part as a total income. It is distributed on the 1st and 15th of every month similar to many civilian jobs. If you choose to serve in the Army Reserve, you will earn what they call a Drill Pay. Army Drill Pay is money you earn while training on weekends and during full-time training events. Pay is based on two weeks of training each year and one weekend each month. Chart reflects Drill Pay only and does not include bonuses, or allowances and other benefits.
